Jean was one of six loving and close sisters. She was born on Dec 22, 1927 to Henry and Ollie Plott of Roe, Arkansas.
The family moved to Floydada, Tx in 1940 and soon after to Plainview, Tx before settling in Amarillo. She married Almer Hays Huff after WWII, who she loved at first sight and said she would “never let him go”.
Jean added color to sepia tone Air Force service-men photos for many years working in the home and later worked for over 2 decades in the US Postal Service as a ZMT operator before retiring.
She was a very independent, sharp witted, strong, and determined woman with deep love for her family. Jean enjoyed life, sewing, oil painting, and cooking. She had many enjoyable years of retirement and loved doing things for others while never expecting anything in return.
She was preceded in death by a son Sammy Hays (stillborn), and her husband Hays, her parents Henry and Ollie, and sisters Josephine Green, Katherine Muse, and Martha King.
Survivors include Son and daughter in law, Gary and Gayle Huff of Shady Shores, Tx. Sister Clara Lois and husband Michael Wright of Amarillo. Sister Vivian Davis of Powder Springs, Ga. And a brother-in-law, Jack Green of Many La. Grandchild Stephanie Clayton and husband Kevin with great grandchildren Ryan and Lauren of Frisco, Tx.
She is also survived by many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
