Aunt Nita  was and always will be such a brave shining star. I always loved hearing my Aunt Nita's sweet voice when we came to visit. I will never forget her infectious laugh with my mom and dad! I enjoyed taking her, Uncle Jay and my dad to the Augusta to see the masters. She was so excited to walk the course, but even more excited to see Tiger. 

Love you and will miss you. Know you are looking down from your tee box in heaven smiling on us all. Tell mom, dad, and all the others family members welcoming you to heaven hello - and we miss them all so much. 


One of my favorite memories is when my Dad would drop me off at her house when Cassie and I were in second grade. Aunt ‘Nita gave me my first taste of Coffee!  Now, to be honest it had more milk and sugar than anything but, it was still coffee. We would just laugh and she’d tell me not to let my Mother know. It would be our “secret “. I later found out that my Mom knew all along. She helped second grade pass by quickly with grins, laughs and love. 
I’ll love you forever Aunt ‘Nita.

Often, I think of the good times with you and Anita that Leonard and I had.  I always think of the golf trip to Angel Fire with you two and the others.  Let's think about those things.  You are in my prayers.

Memeries: 
Being up early in the morning at your house having morning chats with Meme and Pepa and the smell of coffee and toast. You both have the sweetest hearts. Meme would always say, "aren't your feet cold"

Waking up Christmas morning with my whole family in the large living room and handing out the presents. Meme and Pepa really brought the family together

Sitting out back watching the world from the patio. In the daytime we would listen to the birds sing. And at night Pepa would light the beautiful chiminea at night

Looking into the fire now, always brings back memories of you. And now you are that light, burning in the hearts of us all

I love you Meme, my family and all of the times we had together at your home!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Anita.  She was one of my favorite people to play golf with. Always so kind. When I played with her, I shot my best golf. I told her she was my good luck charm.  She is missed.

We are so sorry and sad to hear about Anita’s passing. We hope that knowing you did everything for her will help you find some peace. 

We still laugh thinking about the great memories of our fun trip to Chihuahua, Cuauhtemoc and the Copper Canyon.

I remember my Aunt Nita as a beautiful, bubbly woman with an infectious laugh!  When we were all growing up, my mom, Vicky, babysat Cassie & Jayna. One day Aunt Nita came to pick them up and asked if Cassie had eaten anything today?  My Mom said, “She had a ketchup sandwich!”
They laughed & laughed!

She is Aunt ‘Nita to me. 

My most precious memories of Aunt ‘Nita are the times that she helped plan and organize the Coker family Christmas Eve get-together. 

The Coker, Butcher, and Chambers families really knew how to make Christmas the most special occasion of the year beginning with a family meal, playing games, and sharing presents.  Everyone could see the light in Anita's eyes as we gathered and celebrated the most special time of the year.  

Most of all, I will miss hearing her special laugh and sense of humor. Those who know Anita know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm truly grateful and extremely blessed to have had my Aunt ‘Nita.

Anita was always kind and welcoming when I would come over to my friend Jayna’s house. From 4th grade, to a high school girls ski trip chaperoned by Cassie, and visits at their house when Jayna was in Amarillo as an adult, Anita was always gracious and welcoming. Heaven is a little brighter with her smile and laughter present.
