MAY 28, 1925 – JULY 1, 2021
She was born May 28, 1925, in Snyder, Oklahoma, to Claude & Minnie Belle Pickett. Both parents have
preceded her in death. Alma Jeane was married to Harold Vogel (deceased) & their marriage was blessed by the birth of their daughter, Mykie. She married Reno Stark in 1968. They moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where they lived for many years. Jeane, as she was known by family & friends, was Senior Auditor for the Treasury Department & her territory covered the entire state of Alaska. She lived an amazing life having wonderful adventures not only in Alaska, but all over the world. After retirement in 1988, Jeane & Reno moved to Ava, Missouri. In 1993, they moved to Nixa, Missouri, where Reno passed away in April, 2000. Her wonderful sense of humor will be carried on as all of her family have that “quick wit” within us. She blessed many people to the very end, even in her silence. She truly was a remarkably strong woman & will be missed every day in so many ways.
She is survived by her precious daughter, Mykie, & son-in-law, Eddie Hill of Aubrey, TX. Two sisters, Billie Ham, of Amarillo; Claudeane Sublett, of McKinney, TX. Three grandchildren; Scott Hill of Jacksonville, FL, Tracey Kapeller of Merriam, KS, Curtis Hill & wife, Gayle, of Allen, TX. Two great-grandchildren, Lauren & Alex of Allen, TX.
Jeane was a lifetime member of First Assembly of God Church in Amarillo.
The family requests memorials be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in Amarillo or to the Uganda Watoto
Children’s Ministries.
