Thomas (Tom) Brown, a retired artist, painter, furniture designer and musician, of Orlando, Florida, passed away at the age of 98 at the Metro West Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, after succumbing to the complications of a stroke.
Tom was born in Tallahassee, Florida to William Brown and Lillian Crowell Brown on September 7, 1926.
Thomas Brown is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces; he served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Artistically creative and musically talented, Thomas mastered multiple instruments—acoustic and electric guitar, saxophone, and the piano, and used to perform live with various bands. He wrote and produced songs as well. Tom was also a gifted visual artist and painter; he even designed and built furniture as well as other decorative and functional household items.
Thomas Brown was preceded in death by his parents, William Brown and Lucy Crowell Brown, sisters Bessie and Jeanette Brown, brothers Timothy Brown and William Brown, Jr., son Lawrence Brown, daughter, Joyce Marie Brown, and grandsons Morris “Papa” Edward Brown, Jr. and Terence Brown Jr.
Thomas Brown, the patriarch of the family, is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Lucille, Cameron Brown; his children: Morris Edward Brown, Sr. and Sundai Milette Brown; his grandchildren: Lori Brown, Lawrence Brown, Jr., Jonathan Brown, Damon Pitts, Terence Brown, Jewel Brown, Cedric Brown, Shannon Brinson, Charity Shayla Brown; and his great-grandchildren: Sydney Brown, Jonathan Brown, Iveyanna Brown, Iyaunna Brown, Desiree Brown, Jonathan Brown Jr, Jada Brown, Jo Nathan Brown, Julianna Brown, Trenton Brown, Terran Brown, Sunaia Barnes, Jaaliyah Jenkins, Demetrius Pitts, Devuan Pitts, Shytia Villalobos, Sophia Pitts, Cameron Pitts, Brandon Farrow, Genesis Brinson, Erin Brinson, Tiffany Brinson, Caitlyn McTeal, Carley McTeal. Great Great-grandchild: Sunjai Miley. All will miss him deeply.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the memorial service (1:00 pm).
Memorial Service: An informal memorial service/open house will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 17, at the Baldwin - Fairchild Conway Funeral Home.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Stroke Association.
