He was born on May 3, 1941 in Walla Walla, Washington, the son of the late George and Lois (Seeley) Reed. Mike served in the US Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He worked as a defense contractor for several companies, retiring in 2007. Mike loved fishing, boating, water skiing and RV camping. He also enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Layna Reed.
He is survived by his wife, Marcelle (Prokop) Reed of Casselberry, one son, Michael James Reed II, his daughter, Deborah Harrell and his grandchildren Tiffany Harrell, Trevor Harrell, Cheyne Mikol Reed.
A committal service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida.
