Maria Virginia Diorio, beloved wife of Michael A. Diorio for 57 years passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. 

Maria, the first child born to Juan and Juana Ortiz from Bayamon, Puerto Rico helped her mother raise her ten (10) younger brothers and sisters. 

Maria is the mother of six (6) children, grandmother of ten (10) grandchildren, and great-grandmother of eight (8) great-grandchildren. Maria was the mother of three (3) foster children as well.   

Maria served as a Navy wife (the hardest job in the U.S. Navy!) for 32 years. She endured her husband's Michael two tours to Viet-Nam and numerous multiple month deployments at sea. Though always a working mom, when the children were in school, Maria worked multiple jobs while living in Manhatten, NY, Staten Island, NY, Newport, RI, West Deptford, NJ, Virginia Beach, VA, Philadelphia, PA just to name a few places before she and her husband Michael moved to Florida in 1982. Upon arriving in Florida, Maria continued being of service to others by serving as a Home Care Provider for VNA Home Care of Central Florida where she provided home care services to hundreds of patients throughout Seminole and Orange Counties in Central Florida. 

A Celebration of Life for Maria V. Diorio is planned for the late Spring / Early Summer 2018 timeframe in the Tidewater, Virginia region to allow family and friends to gather and celebrate the life of an extraordinary woman who God blessed with a strong, caring heart, soul and spirit who loved her husband, family and all those who had the opportunity truly get to know her.
