Maria J Costa was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She married Durval Costa in February 1969, and they enjoyed 56 beautiful years of marriage. They had 2 sons in the Azores, before moving to New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1981.
She worked in a curtain factory as a piece work stitcher after their arrival. A few years later, she and her beloved husband created a successful Portuguese family restaurant in Fall River Massachusetts, which they operated for over 18 years. She retired with her family to Orlando, Florida in 2005 where she enjoyed the rest of her life.
She was a loving and dedicated mother and wife, who adored her family very much. She was blessed not only to have met her youngest great grandson, Owen, shortly before her passing, but also had her great granddaughter, Audrey, there along with her children and grandchildren. God blessed her with a husband who not only stood by her, but cared for her until her final moments. She peacefully joined her family in Heaven, Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
