A Celebration of Life for Leland “Lee” C Berg, who entered the church triumphant on November 12, 2022 at the age of 96 1/2 years young will be held on Sunday December 4, 2022. A Lunch and Visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:45pm followed by the service at 1pm at: People of Faith Lutheran Church, 228 Windermere Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787
Leland was born in Taylors Falls, MN where he lived until 1949. He was a lumber salesman and draftsman his entire working career until he retired in 1962. He was the youngest of four boys born to his parents who all preceded him in death. Leland served in the US Army during WWII as part of the 78th Division of the Infantry from June 5, 1944 until December 5, 1946. He was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge on March 4 1945, two days after his 19th birthday, for which he earned a Purple Heart. He married Florence J Hahn of Osceola, WI in 1949 and they lived in Minneapolis MN until 1955 when they moved to the Orlando, FL area. After the death of his first wife Florence in 1992, he married Ruth Burns of Topton NC in 1994 where he lived until her death in April 2020 at which time he moved back to Maitland FL. He is survived by his son, Kent D Berg, and his daughters Suzette M Gray and Renee L Berg; grandsons Karsten D Berg and Randy G Gray, granddaughter Kathryn “Katy” Bojack and his four great grandsons Joshua Gray, Noah Gray, Anders Nielsen-Berg and Loudon Bojack, all of the Orlando FL area. He is also survived by many Nephews, Nieces, Great Nephews and Great Nieces in MN and WI.
In lieu of flowers the family graciously suggest memorial contributions to People of Faith Lutheran Church located in Winter Garden Florida.
