You would never find a more kind and loving person than Jean. She was always sensitive to the feelings of others, putting them first in an attempt to bring happiness. Jean loved the Lord and Christian Music, especially the Gaither Vocal Band.
Jean was a mother of five boys, which required much patience and resilience. While raising 5 boys, she worked part time with the Girl Scout Council and was a dental assistant for several years. And when she married Wally Wallace and he purchased Fairbanks Auto Service she was the financial head of the company. After he sold the business, she began working in the mortgage department of several banks, with SunTrust being her final employer at retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wally after 40 years of marriage. She also lost her son Ken in 2001, Dan in 2002 and her son Bruce in 2015 (all being from her first marriage). She began raising Dan’s daughters 14 and 9 at the age 55. This was an eye opener having never raised girls. These losses brought on much stress and anxiety. Nonetheless, she kept her sweet personality and sense of humor and continued to be a loving mother to her two remaining sons, Mike and Greg.
Jean will surely be missed by her sons, grandchildren and family. She truly enjoyed family gatherings…there will always be a vacant chair in the middle of the activity where Jean always wanted to be. We’ll miss her dearly, but she is rejoicing in heaven with ALL the family that has gone before her.
God gave us an angle known as Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and “Jean Jean the Butterbean”
