Donald Macaulay, 'Don', 84, of Apopka, FL, passed peacefully at home on February 29, 2016. He was born in Lake Worth, FL on February 11, 1932 and grew up traveling between Florida and Michigan. Don was in the Army from 1951-1954 serving in the Signal Corps and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He was an electro-mechanical engineer specializing in optics and worked for cutting edge engineering companies throughout his career until he retired from Martin Marietta. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 60 years, Ruth, his children Lea Beth (Ted) Towne, Bob (Sandy) Macaulay, George Macaulay, Melissa (Cole) Abernethy and four grandchildren. Don was a loving husband, devoted father and had a tremendous sense of humor and wit. He is surely chuckling over passing on a leap year leaving us to mourn his passing only every four years.
