

Charles Edward Reynolds, Sr. was born July 8, 1955 in Thomas County, GA, to the late Albert Reynolds Jr. and Lucille Reynolds of Sanford, FL. He was a 1974 graduate of Seminole High School in Sanford. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After serving two years in the Marines, he returned home and started working for Hubbard Construction for a short while. He then pursued a career in law enforcement. Charles attended the police academy while working as a correctional officer. Upon completion of the academy, Charles started working as a patrol deputy while continuing his education to obtain his AA degree. While working as a patrol deputy, Charles worked on the DUI unit and S.W.A.T. Team. He was also chosen to be one of the first School Resource Officers at Lake Mary High School. While working as an SRO, Charles was an influential football, baseball, basketball and track coach. Charles was promoted to Sergeant as patrol supervisor and continued to coach football. He was an exceptional coach who led his team to many championships. After retirement, he pursued some successful business ventures including his own cleaning business and security company.

A visitation for Charles will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Central Baptist Church, 3101 W. First Street, Sanford, FL 32771. A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 3101 W. First Street, Sanford, FL 32771. A graveside service with military honors will occur Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Oaklawn Cemetery, 5000 COUNTY ROAD 46A, SANFORD, FL 32771.
