Carol Gilley

Carol Gilley of Winter Springs passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017. Carol was born January 5, 1945 and graduated in 1963 from Zephyrhills High School, Zephyrhills, FL. She held a license in Cosmetology and Insurance. Worked as an Office Manager at TLC Dental Laboratories and was in sales for Boston Mutual Life Insurance Co. Carol also worked in sales with AFLAC from 1997 to retirement in 2011. Carol loved fishing as does her entire family. In 1996 Carol and Doug won the “Guys and Dolls USA Champions”. Her other hobby was gardening. All that knew Carol knew she had a green thumb. Her yard was her oasis and she would spend hours in it a week, making it beautiful. She is preceded in death by her husband Doug Gilley, parents Cecil and Clara Hill, brothers James Hill and Ronnie Hill. Carol is survived by her brother Wendell Hill of Live Oak, FL; daughters Patience Gilley of Timmonsville, South Carolina; Kim Oakley, Sanford, FL; Lori (John) Kremer of Sanford, FL. Carol, also affectionately known as MIM is survived by 5 Grandchildren, Alicia (Kenny) Wing of Deltona, FL; Karalynn also known as KK (Jeff) Fidermutz of Daytona, FL; Travis Kremer of DeLand, FL; Kollin Oakley, Sanford, FL and Emily Kremer, Sanford, FL. Carol is also survived by 3 Great Grandsons also known as the Winglets; Kolton/Karl D/Karter Wing. Carol is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends. A Celebration of Carol’s Life is planned for Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 2:00PM at Baldwin-Fairchild, 994 E. Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL, immediately after the family will host a gathering at 4461 Bedford Rd., Sanford FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Carol’s name to the Hospice of the Comforter, Altamonte.
