Barbara Ann Hackett

HACKETT, Barbara Ann, 78, entered eternal life on December 23, 2016 in Orlando FL. She was born on December 20, 1938 in Windber, PA to Irvin W & Alice I (Miller) Ishman. Barbara graduated from Windber Area High School in 1957. She Married in 1958 to David Paul Hackett. Shortly after starting a family, she moved to Orlando in 1967. While living in Central Florida, she was employed by the Southland Corporation (7-11) for 35 years and most recently was employed with Enterprise Holdings (Enterprise & Alamo Car Rental) located on Walt Disney World property. She was a active member of Salem Lutheran Church since 1985 where she was the Sexon for many years and enjoyed the company of her church family. Barbara was kind and treated everyone with much love and respect. She loved to travel and was up for any new & exciting adventures with her daughter, Chris. Her favorite place she traveled was to Alaska. Her children and grandchildren was her biggest joy. She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Alice (Miller) Ishman; husband, David Paul Hackett; sister, Lois Statler; son, James LeRoy Hackett. Survived by her daughter, Christine Mathis (Life Partner, Vicki Sluder) Apopka, FL; son, David Bruce Hackett, Homestead, FL; 3 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Rita) Ishman, Clearwater, FL; William (companion, Sandra) Ishman, Winder, PA; Ronald (Catherine) Ishman, Sykesville, MD; numerous nieces & nephews and their immediate family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, West Altamonte Chapel, 90 Weathersfield Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church, 7900 S Apopka-Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Salem Lutheran Church.
