Susanne Marie Stevenson

Susanne Marie Stevenson, a 70 year old resident of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on November 4, 2022 at 6:15am at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria, Virginia after a year long battle of complications resulting from suffering multiple strokes.

Susanne was born on November 2, 1952 at Arlington Hospital in Arlington, Virginia to parents Charles Vernon Stevenson and Mary Elizabeth (Lesho) Stevenson.

Susanne worked as a computer specialist/analyst for 30 + years at Northern Virginia Community College in Alexandria, Virginia from her college graduation until retirement. Susanne’s interests and hobbies included spending time with her family, especially her nieces, great nieces and great nephews, going to the movies, going out to eat at different types of restaurants, reading books, spending time with her dogs, and loved to travel, especially overseas.

Susanne is survived by her nieces, Deanna (Timothy) Mushero, Angela (Jason) Pettit, Crystal Stevenson, and Stephanie (Mason) Stevenson-McMann; great nieces Elizabeth, Gabrielle and Alexandria Pettit, Maliyah McMann and great nephews, Alonzo Carter and Timothy Mushero, Jr; along with many cousins. Susanne is also survived by her two canine kids, Sophie and Tucker. Susanne was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Vernon Stevenson and Mary Elizabeth (Lesho) Stevenson, her sister and brother in law Charlene & John Nagy, brother and sister in law Stephen & Patti Stevenson and great nephew Stephen Charles Stevenson Jr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 5-8 pm at Demaine Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 11 am at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Popkins Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306. Interment will follow at the Basilica of Saint Mary Cemetery, 1000 S. Royal Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.

A reception will be held at Primo’s Family Restaurant, 1636 Belle View Blvd, Alexandria, VA 22307 immediately after the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Susanne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
