Oh, George, I, like many of your friends, share in your sorrow of your mother's death.  Nothing like it.  Will haunt you forever, I promise.  And I do wish it weren't so.
Not that my presence would have meant much solace for you at the visitation tonight, but I failed to make it at the last minute.  My clothes were laid out and ready; and no, my dog didn't eat the homework regarding any directions; but after living with us for over 13 years, pet Molly did die.
We're mourning around at our house tonight, but we'll recover far faster than you.  Just know I care very much about your loss

BTW, I'm amused that your mother had a male nickname, so did my mother, known as "Pete."  Those are the type characters who will never be forgotten!

We in Diamond Wings will certainly miss your dear mother and our friend.  We always look looked forward to getting together with your mother, and occasionally with your parents per the event.  Your mother was so kind, warm and vivacious, and always had something interesting to say.  In short, we loved her, and our memories will always be fondly held for her.
