McLean, Virginia, Mr. Carlomagno was born in Fairmont, West Virginia,
and graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1942.
In World War II he served and flew “the Hump” with the 10th Army Air Force
in China.
He graduated from West Virginia University in 1949 with a degree in economics
and worked as a financial analyst for the FDIC.
He was the second youngest of five children and was preceded in death by
his parents Pasquale and Theresa Carlomagno; three sisters; Carmela (Frank
Sneezy) Retton, Adelene (James) Piscitelli, and Louise (Gazil) Harry.
Survivors include his brother; Frank, a sister-in-law Norma (Compton)
a niece, Jean (Jerry) Barney, grand niece Erin; nephew Frank II (Toni),
grand nephew, Luca, grand niece, Gia. All of Richmond, Virginia.
Mr. Carlomagno had a variety of interests and traveled extensively.
He was an avid bridge player, tennis enthusiast and a keen interest in the
Romance Languages.
Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be
