Gary Alexander Colletti, 46, passed away in his home in Alexandria, Virginia on Friday, November 5th, 2021. He was born in Queens, New York on July 23rd, 1975. He graduated from Chaminade High School in the class of 1993. He went on to get his undergraduate education from Binghamton University and then continued his graduate studies at The New School and Hofstra for his teaching degree. Gary was a high school history teacher for fourteen years, first in New York City and then in Richmond, Virginia. After leaving the classroom, he got a graduate degree from The George Washington University in education policy and began a career in curriculum and programs. Until his death, he worked for the Bill of Rights Institute as a programs director for teachers and students. He loved reading comic books, talking philosophy, and was a member of the Evil Monkeybrothers Band. Everybody who knew him will remember his vibrant spirit and whip smart sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his father, John J. Colletti. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Colletti of Alexandria, his mother Patricia Colletti of Richmond, his brother John C. Colletti of Richmond, his nephew John W. Colletti of Richmond, his niece Penelope Colletti of Richmond, his uncle Richard Colletti (Colleen) of New York, his father-in-law Louis Iacoletti (Anja) of Fairfax, Virginia, his sister-in-law Nadia Iacoletti, his brother-in-law Mark Iacoletti, his brother-in-law Fred Iacoletti, and his two cats Beatrice and Puck.
