Dorothy Davies Johns, 88, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011 at Fairfax Hospital. "Dottie", as she was known to her friends, was a long time member of All Saints Church in Woodbridge, VA. Mrs. Johns retired with over 30 years of superior service in the Department of Defense. She worked for the Army at Cameron Station and for the Navy at NAVELEX and COMSPA WARFARE. After retiring from government service, she obtained her Real Estate License and pursued a career in Real Estate with the Hilton Group in Dale City, VA, until an illness prevented her from returning at age 80. While pursuing her career she lovingly raised three children, sharing that same love of Christ and wisdom with her nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johns was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Davies, her father, Willard Davies, her husband, Thomas Johns and her son, Michael Lawrence Murphy. Survivors include her two daughters, Elizabeth Small and her husband Matt, and Sandra Biddle; nine grandchildren, including Courtney Biddle, Stephanie Biddle, Marc Biddle, Scot Small and his wife Sally, Kimberly Johnson and her husband Trez, Karen Lysne and her husband Craig, Michael Murphy and his wife Bonnie, Danielle Hubinger and her husband Adam and Scott Murphy; 19 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nellie Wadsworth. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 20 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 20 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Comfort Cemetery
