Willie Lee Perry, 85, formerly of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away November 11, 2015. He was born January 13, 1930, to the late A.D. and Ethel Perry in Centerville, Mississippi, in Bolivar County. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Odessa Perry; son, Coy Lee Perry; brother, Monroe Perry; and sister, Rowena Godbold.
He was well educated by his mother in a one-room schoolhouse in Mississippi. At the age of 19, he moved to Hot Springs to have a productive life. His immediate family soon followed. In 1983, he retired from Reynolds Metals and soon became known as a local contractor. Willie loved all kinds of sports. In 2012, as a result of failing health, he moved to Little Rock to live with his daughter.
He is survived by his daughter and caregiver, LaVerne Perry-DuVall; sons, Billy Doyle Perry, Little Rock, Nathaniel (Rosalyn) Lane, Malvern, Arkansas, and Lloyd Mosby, Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Natasha (Gerald) Rosko, Cordova, Tennessee, Michelle DuVall, Little Rock, Cedric Alexander, Hot Springs, Sheila (Ray) Berry, Chicago, Illinois and Ebony Willis, Oakland, California; eight great-grandchildren and a special friend, Mae Hicks.
