Phyllis Joy Griffin, 75, of Mabelvale, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 26, 1949, in Dumas, Texas, to Joy (Smith) and the late Phillip Taylor. In addition to her father, Phyllis was welcomed into Heaven by her sister, Lisa Taylor, and her nephew, Zachary Taylor.
Phyllis was well-known for her vibrant, outgoing personality and her candid, no-nonsense approach to life. She had a sharp wit and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. In her free time, Phyllis and her husband, Paul, enjoyed playing pool together. When they weren’t at the pool hall, she could often be found with her nose in a book, especially works by her favorite author, Danielle Steel. She also loved spending weekends traveling to craft shows with her best friends, Bert Shivers and her mother-in-law, Nancy Nahlen.
Those left to cherish the memory of Phyllis include her husband of 28 years, Paul Griffin; her son, Michael (Sheina) Griffin; her stepsons, Timmy and Terry (Michelle) Dammann; her grandchildren, Jaxon, Cora, and Ella Griffin, as well as Abby and Amsley Dammann; her siblings, Craig (Karen) Taylor, Ken (Cindy) Taylor, Brett Taylor, and Jacqueline Stillwell; and many nieces, nephews, and numerous other family and friends who all love her and will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Phyllis will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Memorial Park following the service. Visitation will take place the evening prior, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the funeral home.
