

Patricia Van Tassel, 63, of Bryant, AR passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 after a long battle with Lyme disease. She was born April 16, 1960 in Fort Worth, TX. She is proceeded in death by her father, James Clark; mother, Barbara Shuffield; and her brothers, Mike and Mark Clark.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Van Tassel; son, David Crews and wife Ariana of Bryant; son, Derek Van Tassel and wife Cassandra of Bryant; daughter, Sherry Barker and husband Roger of Benton; six grandchildren, Thatcher Crews (5), Taj Van Tassel (20), Aslan Ladd (18), Sophie Barker (13), Preston Barker (21), and Hope Barker (16).
Patti held many jobs and had many hobbies throughout her life, such as race car driver, decorator, accountant, home builder, photography, wife and mother, but the one she loved the most was being Gammy to her grandchildren. She made every holiday fun and special with indoor snowball fights, inflatable reindeer antlers, silly mustaches and much more. She taught them silly songs, did funny dances, read them many books and played games with them. She hosted sleep overs, had photoshoots and taught them to bake. Staying with Gammy was always a treat. Gammy cheered on her grandchildren at many dance recitals and competitions, soccer games, cross country meets and school plays. No one was prouder of her grandchildren than she was.
Patti suffered from Lyme disease and became an advocate for Lyme disease awareness. She was passionate about educating others about Lyme and other tick born illnesses. Lyme disease is a debilitating illness that robbed her of many years, making her too sick to enjoy all the things she loved so much. She was so strong and fought so hard. She will be missed greatly.
A visitation from 4:00 to 5:00 and memorial service from 5:00 to 6:00 will be held to celebrate the life of Patti on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Pinecrest Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 N. Alexander, Arkansas 72002
