She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Kent Williams Sr., sisters Elaine Bumgardner, Shirley Jones, Paula White and parents.
She is survived by her son Richard Kent Williams Jr., daughter-in-law Kathryn, grandsons Kent and Michael of Parker, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters; Laura Shiver of Allen, Texas and Cathy Payne of Fairhope, Alabama.
Marlene was a devout Christian and served as an elder for First Christian Church in Edinburg, Virginia and an elder and Chairman of the Board at Parkview Christian Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a loving wife to her husband of 50 years and a kind and generous mother. She spent her career in Arkansas, Kansas, and Virginia as a CPA in finance for the telecommunications industry but her pride and joy was family.
Marlene loved spending time watching her grandsons play sports or laughing with her four sisters Elaine, Laura, Shirley, Paula, and Cathy. Marlene’s smile and infectious humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Celebration of Life service will be held November 16th, 2023 at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Arkansas. Visitation begins at 1pm with a service at 2pm. Graveside service and interment to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial gift in Marlene’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
