Joseph W. “Joe” Higginbotham, 67, of Mabelvale, went to be with the Lord, June 21, 2016. He was born to Joseph and Mary Louise Higginbotham on September 19, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Joe loved telling crazy stories and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved arts and crafts, painting, scrapbooking, collecting stamps and coins, but his favorite pass time was playing with his grandson.
Joe graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in Mathematics; he later earned two masters, one from Brigham Young University in Computer Aided Manufacturing and one from University of Utah in Artificial Intelligence. He served in the Air Force in Jacksonville as a Deputy Missile Crew Commander.
Joe was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Debbie; his mother, Mary Louise; son, Joseph Walker “JW” Higginbotham and his wife Melissa Higginbotham; grandson, Joseph Martin Higginbotham; cousins, Debbie Akins, Carol Keller and Carl Smith. He also leaves a host of loving family and friends.
A Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas with the funeral service following at 12 p.m. Pastor Dave Hughey will officiate.
