Gerald was born October 17, 1931, in Fairburn, Georgia, where he lived until he was recruited to serve his country in the United States Army in the DMZ during the Korean Conflict. After returning to the United States, Gerald met and married his longtime companion of 62 years, Patsy Ann (White) Stephens. Gerald was a Deacon at Haven Heights Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas and attends Little Rock’s First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is also survived by his son, Rick Stephens of South Bend, Indiana and daughter Pamela Kaye Goldsmith of Little Rock, Arkansas. He also leaves behind three granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars in honor of Sgt. Gerald H Stephens.
