Gary Phillips

Gary loved talking to people and had such a sweet and gentle spirit. He also had a spirit for adventure, even attempting to cross the Arkansas River in a 4x4 SUV. He had a passion for guns, cars and drag racing. He was a member of Midtowne Church, where he loved his church family and being a greeter to those who came to church, a job that he took very serious.

Gary served his country in the United States Navy as a Seaman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Jessica (Jeremy) McAlister and Jacqueline Phillips; grandchildren: Kaylin, Katherine, Brooks and Bradley McAlister, and Cole Phillips; sister, Beverly (Nick) Calhoun; nieces: Michelle Calhoun-Bryant and Courtney Calhoun-Bailes; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Midtowne Church in Benton with a visitation starting at 11:00 am, and service starting at 12:00 pm.
