Darrell Tackett

Darrell was born in Cross County, Arkansas. His younger years were spent on his uncle’s farm, working, hunting and fishing with his dad, uncle and brothers. The family moved to Little Rock in the early 1960s. Darrell graduated from McClelland High School in 1973. He worked for A.O. Smith for many years and most recently retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal after 18 years of public service. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and enjoyed tending his garden in the spring and summer. The joy of his life was his son Brian. No matter what activities Brian participated in, from little league baseball and taekwando to basketball, band and shooting sports, Darrell was always there. He enjoyed working with young people, coaching and assisting with the Saline County Shooting Sports team. Darrell never met a stranger and would talk to anyone, spinning tall tales about almost anything. He will be missed by many.

Darrell was preceded by his father Charles E. Tackett, his mother Alberta Rose Tackett and his brother David Tackett. Left to cherish his memory are his son Brian J. Tackett, brothers Dennis Tackett (Angela) and Donnie Tackett, sister Debbie Weathermon (Frank), nephews Brad Rorie, Brandon Jacoby, Hunter Tackett and Chaz Tackett, nieces Katie Jacoby, Leslie Smith and Rachel Tackett and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Pinecrest Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm.
