In loving memory of Daniel Walter Cook, age 77, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, who peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Born on December 31, 1945, to the late Arthur and Mary Meade Cook of Dixon, Illinois.
Dan's zest for life was reflected in his loving and meticulous planning of family vacations. An avid outdoorsman, he also found joy in hiking, boating, fishing, and hunting. He frequently captured the beauty of nature and life through his award-winning photography.
Throughout his career, Dan earned numerous accolades in the field of psychology. He was a proud Razorback fan, serving decades as a professor of rehabilitation counseling at the University of Arkansas.
He was an extraordinary father to his daughter, Carrie Anderson, and her husband David of Benton, Arkansas. Dan adored his grandchildren, Greta Anderson and Will Anderson, and took great delight in creating cherished memories with them.
Dan’s love for his family extended throughout 51 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Becky Cook, with whom he shared a lifetime of laughter, adventures, and steady companionship.
Dan is survived by his brother, James “Jim” Cook, and his wife Gwen, of Dixon, Illinois; and his sisters-in-law, Julie Scott and her husband Don of Morganton, North Carolina, and Susan Zickuhr and her husband Keith of Mount Morris, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary, and his wife, Becky.
