Cynthia Lee Hatak, born on February 14, 1956, in Forest View, Illinois, passed away on October 5, 2024, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Cynthia was a beacon of intelligence, dedication, and love. She devoted her life to her family, friends, and career, touching the lives of many with her unwavering support and kindness.
Cynthia retired from a fulfilling career with Arkansas Parks and Tourism, where she was not only a colleague but also a mentor and a friend, fondly referred to as a "work mother" by many, including her work daughter, Sarah Satterwhite. Her commitment to her work paralleled her dedication to her family, as she was a loving parent, grandparent, sister, and aunt, always ready to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her children, Stacy and Arlo Cyz, and Thomas and Crystal Hatak; her special niece, Cynthia (Brad) Gosney; siblings, Sharon Ahls, Tammy Tanner, and Nicholas and Keith Bulthuis; her grandchildren, Samantha (Cody) Rudd, Stephanie, Tyler, Peyton, Daniel (Sarah), Reign, Jennifer, Liam, Veronica, Carmen Cyz, and Robert (Jesse) Seeman. Cynthia was also a proud great-grandmother to Adrian, Reese, and Justin Seeman, and an auntie to countless nieces and nephews. Her life was enriched by her lifelong friends, Marie Ewald, Steve Shorner, and Laura McGuffey, who stood by her through thick and thin.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommee Hatak; her parents, James and Elaine Bulthuis; her grandparents, Henry and Veronica Garstkiewicz, and Pieter and Elizabeth Bulthuis; as well as best friends, Wayne (Twig) and Renee Krall.
A private service will be held to honor Cynthia's memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause close to her heart. Cynthia's legacy of love, dedication, and community service will forever be cherished and remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
