Charlotte Louise Smith

Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her heart was to care for others, whether it was her family or her patients. She was a registered nurse and started her career as a nurse anesthetist then moved specialties to renal nursing. She was with the Veterans Hospital for over 30 years before retiring but afterward stayed on as a part-time nurse because of her love of caring for others. Charlotte was a hard worker who also care for her own mother for many years. She enjoyed the beach, shopping and reading. Talking to her grandkids was the highlight of her days. Her hope in Christ gave her strength.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Laura Smith; granddaughters: Kady Sidlauskas (Jesse), Carlee Purdum (Tanner), and Michal Walther (Jonathan); great grandchildren: Emory Sidlauskas, Everette Purdum, Elliot and Saoirse Walther; and her brother, Harold Bassett.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Emma Bassett.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, June 5, 2023, at Pinecrest Funeral Home followed by a graveside service starting at 11:00 am at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
