Carrie H. Madden, 94, left this earth early in the morning of June 2, 2015 to be reunited with the love of her life, Cecil E. Madden, her husband of 56 years until his death in 1996. Mrs. Madden was born to Carrie Helen Anthony March 4, 1921 in Pottsville, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Jessie and Ada Dagley Anthony and had three brothers and one sister, all who have preceded her in death. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Judith Gordon and her husband Marion L. Gordon and her son Steven Madden and his wife Loretta Madden; her grandchildren Shelly Shipley and Bryce Madden and great-granddaughters Dylan and Sailor Shipley. Mrs. Madden was a long time resident of Little Rock Arkansas where she and her husband worked and raised their children. She and Cecil were active in the Unity Church and gained comfort and encouragement in that faith. They retired and moved to Newton County near Walnut Arkansas in 1975. She liked to call that “her Mountain” where they had a place with a beautiful views and bluffs and waterfalls, and enjoyed gardening and even raised pigs. She returned to Little Rock to live near her children the last several years of her life. She was a resident of Valley Ranch Nursing Home at the time of her passing. The family would like to thank Valley Ranch Nursing Home for the care and compassion they provided for our mom. The service will be held at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home on Thursday June 4, 2015 starting at 2:00pm, with a visitation from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.
