Carolyn Sue Douthit, 79, of Benton, Arkansas, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 9th, 2023. She was born December 20th, 1943 in Bossier City, Louisiana to Earnest and Joye Arnett.
Carolyn married Marvin “ Pete “ Douthit in 1976. During some of those years, she followed him to the Philippines and back to the states as he pursued his Air Force career. She loved being a homemaker and mother to all of their children from both sides of the marriage as well one baby they both adopted while in the Philippines.
Carolyn had many joys in her life such as being a florist for Hobby Lobby, substitute teaching, quilting and making quilts for all of her family members, and sewing clothes for her family. She was a wonderful cook and holiday meals were such a joy. Her biggest joy was her family and making a home with “Pete”.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Joye Arnett; a son, Michael David Tucker; twin brothers, Harold Wayne Arnett and Howard Dane Arnett.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, “Pete” Douthit; children: Caren Joyce Bitter, Rocky Lee (Francis) Gardner, Dany Ray Douthit, Craig Alan (Bobby) Douthit, Mark Canton (Jennifer) Williams, Terry Lane (Teri) Williams, Kimberley Colette (Robin) Shilling, and Krista Faith (Marvin) Santiago; 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews and numerous family members and friends.
Carolyn was a strong woman and showed it in a variety of ways. She knew from whom her faith and strength came.
Family honored to be her Pallbearers are; Terry Williams, Robin Shilling, Craig Douthit, Marvin Santiago, Myles Robinson and Michael Santiago.
Visitation services will be held at 6-8 pm Monday, February 13, 2023 at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Ar.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Pinecrest Funeral Home in Alexander, Ar. with Associate Pastor Tracy Shelton of New Life Church in Saline County officiating. Burial is in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ar.
