Growing up, Brandon loved to try all sports. As a kid he played soccer, basketball, and roller hockey. Brandon was a graduate of Liberty High School of Frisco, Texas.
Brandon was a talented musician. In middle school he played the bass in orchestra, which started his love of music. As he grew up, his love and talent for music branched into the bass and acoustic guitars. He was in several bands in his life, but his most beloved and most recent was The Blackout Pictures, which recorded several albums and performed primarily in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He made lifelong friendships with his band mates. Brandon also contributed to his band through backup vocals and writing original pieces for the band. He loved his life in Santa Fe.
Brandon was an electrician apprentice working toward becoming a journeyman electrician in commercial electrical. He was a natural in his profession and quickly learned many aspects of his craft, loving each challenge.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Richard Lee and Linda G. Smith of McKinney, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law: Richard “Scott” and wife Rachel of Missoula, Montana, and Jonathan Smith of McKinney, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and husband Jon of McKinney, Texas; nephew and niece: Cameron Olson and Sloan Olson of McKinney, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carroll and Marian Green; fraternal grandparents, Richard Wayne and Christine Smith; and brother, Tyler Gene Smith.
