With Brent’s passing we morn the loss of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and loyal friend. Predeceased by his parents Roland and Shirley Douglas. Survived by his wife Alison (Park), daughters Alexis & Alana (Alex Quaglia) and grandson Alessandro, his sister Rona (Ron Taylor) and nephews Drew (Jen) and Matthew (Claire).
After a 20-year battle with Leukemia Brent passed away at home surrounded by love and support from his family, friends, and the amazing community of Harrison-Agassiz. The stem cell transplant was unsuccessful. His leukemia migrated into a rare incurable lymphoma. He preferred to be at home surrounded by the water and mountains he loved so much. Brent lived life to the fullest, he was a force to be reckoned with. A force for good, for guidance, for love. We miss him daily.
Brent graduated from Algonquin College, Ottawa as a quantity surveyor estimator. His construction career spanned 36 years in Ontario, BC, and Alberta. During that time he worked as an apprentice electrician, building inspector, sheet metal & carpenter journeyman, mill operator, quantity surveyor, carpenter on Sea to Sky highway, Golden Ears bridge, and Cambie Line sky train, and construction superintendent in the oil patch. Never one to be idle when construction slowed down, Brent worked as a DJ at local community centers for weddings and special events, and Director for AIM Canada. Due to health concerns once Brent was unable to continue working in construction, he completed a business diploma at Douglas college and launched his own successful company Home & Property Handyman. Brent had an incredible work ethic. Despite declining health, he went on to establish DougPark Enterprise selling AquaSoles, at trade shows, hospitals, care homes, hotels, and post offices.
Poor health did not kill Brent’s zest for life. With Alison by his side, they continued to enjoy their timeshares and would travel to Mexico and California. Even during COVID he put his foot to the pedal and ventured to Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast, the Okanagan, and Vancouver Island. As his steam ran out his walks became shorter and his excursions were to Costco-shopping for neighbors -Sasquatch Park, and lunches at Manning Park. Family and friends are comforted knowing that Brent is at peace with the Lord and no longer in pain.

Yesterday a state of Emergency was issued for Harrison. Many roads and basements are flooded. Hwy's are closed and weather conditions are unstable. After much soul searching I have decided to postpone Brent's celebration on November 20, 2021 until Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Agassiz United Church, 6860 Lougheed Hwy, Agassiz.
Donations may be made in Brent’s memory to: United Church, a small church with a big heart for the community and supporting one another. Donations will go towards upgrading the church front door for handicap access. • Envelopes will be available at the service. • Cheques can be mailed to the church.
