Aaron Leroy Smith was born January 21, 1948 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. He was the second son of Henry and Juanita Smith, both deceased.
Aaron's siblings are his oldest brother Ralph, his sister Linda, other brothers Garry (deceased), Henry Junious, and Rowland.
The family moved from Virginia to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1958.
Aaron graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1966 and thereafter enlisted in the United States Navy.
Aaron served in the US Navy for 4 years from 1966 to 1970.
Aaron married Juliana in 1969 and moved to Canada following his time in the Navy. They had one daughter Corinna, born in 1973.
In 1994 Aaron and Julie were legally separated but remained amicably friends over the years.
Aaron suffered over the years with mental health issues and in the last 6 years or so, had been battling Multiple Myeloma and had also been diagnosed with an aortic aneurism. He did not die from either of those terminal illnesses but rather from cardiac and hypertension related issues.
Aaron is survived by his wife (separated) Juliana Smith, His daughter, Corinna (Keith), 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The life of Aaron will be honored in a service on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 10:30 am at South Ridge Fellowship Church, 22756 48 Ave, Langley.
