William "Bill" Charles Farmer, age 82 of Harriman, TN passed away on May 28, 2021 at his home, with his loving family by his side. Bill served his country faithfully in the United States Navy. He was a faithful member of South Harriman Baptist Church. Bill was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he also loved his woodshop where he enjoyed building birdhouses, which he almost always gave away to friends.
Bill had waiting on him at the Gates of Eternity with open arms his parents Glenn and Ella Farmer and other family members. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and dedicated wife of 42 and a half years Betty Sue Farmer; daughter Tammy Young; son, Bobby King; sister-in-laws, Mary Arthur, Brenda Atkins, Thelma (Bob) Young; brother-in-laws, Alan (Gail) Rogers, Bill (Diane) Rogers, Jeff ( Cindy) Rogers, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701, with at Funeral Service to follow at 4:00PM with Rev. Stan Knight to officiate the service. Family and friends will gather for a Committal Service on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 12:30PM at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E.
