Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, William “Mike” Conley passed from this life to his eternal home on July 9th, 2023 at the age of 82. Mike lives on through his beloved wife, Mary Ann of 52 years, daughters Rene Wolfrom and Jeanie Murray, son-in-law Mark Murray, granddaughters Ryane Markham and Payton Murray, grandsons Alex Murray, Kevin and Kyle Wolfrom, great grandchildren, Parker Murray, Ember Markham and Wels Markham, and lifelong friend Mike Wilks. Preceded in death was his father and mother, Bill and Neva Conley and his son Patrick Conley. His greatest pride and joy was his family. He selflessly placed his desires aside to provide opportunities for his family to flourish. He lovingly cared for his wife during many years of poor health. He was an inspiration and support to his grandchildren to pursue the desires of their hearts and he found the sweetest of joys in his great grandchildren. He was extremely creative, documenting this beautiful life through film, writing, photography and story telling, truly a teacher at heart. He gave 37 years of his life as a Supervisor at Lockheed Martin and enjoyed driving Bluebird Buses during his retirement years. His passions were golf, Harley Davidson motorcycle riding, and enjoying his 1970’s shag carpeted Bluebird Motorhome. He also found great joy in spoiling the many cats and dogs so blessed to live with them. He was a provider, even from the early age of eleven, his newspaper earnings provided the down payment on his parents first home. As his parents aged, he and Mary Ann brought both his mother and mother-in-law into their home to care for them. He loved his home and neighborhood of 36 years in Majestic Oaks. Those friendships were very special to him. It was there the unicycle he gave his daughter, Jeanie, wore out the roads which later led to the creation of “The JSE Unicycle Club” in Maryville, TN. This club embodies the encouragement of self-confidence which was at the heart of everything he did. It is why in lieu of flowers, a donation site has been set up to donate to “The JSE Unicycle Club” to honor his legacy. If your heart moves you to donate, please mail a check to John Sevier Elementary noting (Unicycle Club) at 2001 Sequoyah Ave, Maryville,TN 37804. Heartfelt thanks.
