Michael earned his Master’s degree in education and participated on the first national championship football team at Troy University in 1968. He was a member of the TKE fraternity, a college graduate assistant, and went on to become a high school football coach and then a college coach. Michael was a 10th degree blackbelt, heavily being a part of the karate world, where he met many lifelong friends. After coaching he became an insurance agent, stockbroker, and a counselor, mentoring many and beloved by all. Michael was a person who always gave, but never asked to receive in return. He touched so many as a coach, a sensei, a mentor, a Dr., a coworker, and a friend.
Michael is survived by son, Michael Shawn Sadler; and daughter, Jenny Michelle Sadler Gower; granddaughters Sarah Elizabeth Sadler and Laura Kathryn Sadler, grandsons, Cade Manod Gower, Rhett Richard Gower and Macsen Michael Gower; and brothers, Charles Gray Sadler and Jeffery Lee Sadler.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Irving Gray Sadler and Ethel Lane Sadler.
A receiving of family and friends for Michael will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Steve Craft.
