I have always loved this picture of us! I miss you little brother❤️ This past year has been one of adjustments and firsts…some so difficult…some bittersweet….some heart-wrenching. Through it all, the Lord has blessed and comforted and collected tears and reminded us that we shall see you again and be HOME too. Until then, I miss you on so many levels ❤️

Josh, I hope you are at peace and surrounded by love. I think of you often my friend. 

Today my dear and wonderful son went home to his Heavenly Father one year ago….he went to his JESUS and many family members including his Dad…a large hole was left in my life but I rejoice that one day I will see and be with him again.

I had the pleasure of working with Josh daily for the last 3+ years.  I affectionately called him my work husband and I am positive he was the better half.   He brightened my days with his wisdom, kindness, honesty, directness and passion!   He lived life fully engaged. He adored his family and was true to his friends.  I loved the mischievous side in him and the wonderful smile and laughter!   

My condolences to the family and the many friends who so loved him.  He brightened all of our lives.  I will not forget and will treasure him always.  

Just  wanted the family to know that I was blessed to meet Josh on a Saturday morning a few months ago at Deals Gap Resort and eat breakfast with him. Some of my friends and I meet their every Saturday to eat breakfast and then explore the region. I asked him if he wanted to eat breakfast with us since it appeared that he was by himself. I had no idea that he worked there until our conversation at the table. I would see him there on occasion the last few months. He was a kind spirit and I wanted to express how troubling it was to learn of his passing. I found out this past Saturday morning. God bless your family and know that I am praying for healing.  I am so sorry for your loss.

Worked with Josh on and off for almost 12 years. Sometimes we wouldn't speak for several months, then a project or event would bring us together and we would work closely for period of time. Josh was always a treat to work with. Extremely smart and a great wit. He had a gift for getting to the heart of a matter and knew how to get things done. I can't remember a conversation when we didn't share a laugh.  Always happy to see his name pop up on my phone when he would reach out.  Deepest condolences to his loved ones, friends, and the Marriott family.  RIP Josh - you will be missed. 

When I joined Marriott in late 2019 and began regularly visiting the Bethesda office, Josh stood out from day one as a particularly welcoming colleague, even among a great group of co-workers.  I quickly learned he would bring levity to any gathering with his quick wit- which I truly appreciated.  At the same time his dedication and passion for the work was always evident.  

It’s so clear Josh touched many lives.  My deep condolences to April and the family for your profound loss.  May you find comfort in your faith, and in the community of those who knew him who are grieving with you.

I'm so sorry to hear of Josh's passing.  He was certainly a colorful character!  May God put him to work in the next life.

I had the fortune of working with Josh at Marriott in TN and in MD.  Josh is a true gentleman and he was always so kind to me.  I appreciate his sense of humor and the straight forward way he spoke with me.  To his family, I am so sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences.  Josh was such a special person.  At church he use to kid and joke with me, making me laugh all the time.  I can remember when you and the girls were singing a special song at church, at Christmas I believe, I sat and watched as tears rolled down his face.  He was so proud of you and the children.......you could see the love on his face every time he looked at you.  

I can't tell you enough how much you both have meant to me.  You were there with our family during our darkest days and I'll never forget that.

Josh, it was a great pleasure having a colleague with the passion, integrity and knowledge that you had, you will be greatly missed.

I first met Josh when his wife April taught art classes to my nephew and myself in their home in MD. Josh was always polite, friendly and never minded explaining to me his matchbox car hobby. He use to detail these little cars and wow, he was so artistic! I admired his devotion to the lord and his family. Before he would leave for work the family would gather for prayer, it was priceless!! My nephew developed a strong bond with Josh and the Davis family. I know you are with the lord Jesus Christ now which brings me comfort knowing that “I will see you again”!

Josh, you always had something nice to say - and it always came from the heart. Whether talking in meetings or on an individual basis, your sincerity and integrity of character shone through unmistakably. 
 
 I have lost in you a dear friend and a trustworthy colleague, but I take comfort in knowing that you leave behind a deep and lasting imprint in all of our hearts, and in the lives of your beloved family.

Josh. My man. We were cube-neighbors and I was having a hard time adjusting to working at HQ and especially making friends. Not even knowing who I was, you blared “How angry are you at that keyboard?” And that’s how we met. We would joke about who was the most aggressive towards whom - me to my keyboard or you to those guys at the payment company project. 

Josh would always take time to say hello and his face never lit up as much as when he talked about his family and how proud of them he was. We shared an acerbic sense of humor with deadpan delivery but it was evident that his family was his pride and joy. 

I’ll miss you, Josh. We all will. And when you hear that keyboard clacking with fury next, let’s make sure to say Hi again.

I didn’t know Josh for nearly long enough, but working with him daily for the past 3+ years his courage, passion, honesty, confidence, commitment, dedication, and humor were truly inspirational.  You always knew when Josh was in the room, on the call or on Teams.  He had a big heart and he loved his family and friends.  He knew how to make you laugh, even when you were in a mood.  He was open, direct, honest and passionate about everything he did.  He had many qualities that so many strive for but never reach.

To the Davis family, I'm so sorry for your loss.  Josh was definitely one in a million. We worked together one way or another for 20 years at Marriott. I referred to him as "Hot Josh Davis" and if I didn't, he would get in his feeling :).  I'm thankful and grateful i had the opportunity to meet Josh on this journey called life.

I was so fortunate to have met Josh many years ago. We worked on several projects together and had frequent coffee breaks where we would just laugh at any topic. My sincere condolences to the family.

I've known Josh for about 23 years or so. A group of us have been online gaming buds for years and Josh (thankfully, now) is the only one I have actually met in person. (Aaron and I are going to change that!) I'll never forget the night they escorted me from Qeynos Hills to Freeport in Everquest, way back in the day. I'll miss his voice, his laugh, and all the "nice pull!"s we've collectively had over the years. I'll miss all the long various RPG, Rainbow 6, Ghost Recon, Forza nights we've shared. I also lost an aunt two days prior, but this...Josh...hit me quite hard. It's the first relatively close friend I have lost and it cuts deeper than I'd realize.
My thoughts are with April, the kids, and the whole family.

The common threads in all these heartwarming messages are his humor and loyalty to family and other loved ones.  I never actually met Josh in person, but this is exactly the Josh I knew.  This just shows how genuine of a person he truly was.  His humor had me cracking up until my stomach hurt.  Every once in a while, I could return the favor. I will never forget him laughing until tearing up and saying, “Oh good Lord.”  Thankfully, those moments will forever be with me.  Thank you for always being you, Josh (Lusso).  Your light will forever shine on those you’ve touched.  Rest in peace.  Sending all my love and condolences to his family and friends.

I worked with Josh closely at Marriott for almost 5 years.  The memories that stick out the most are 1). his love for his family. From sharing his pride about their accomplishments, their character, to taking care of his father who was sick at the time. We bonded over our common love and devotion to our families. 2). He had your back. Josh was the guy who would push you at work to be better, do better, and the same guy who had your back when your car battery was dead and needed a quick jump so you could get home to your kids....no questions asked, he was there. 3). He played tough guy but he was sensitive and deeply cared for us. I will never forget the very sincere call he made to me when he found out I had lost my job. We both had a good cry! And then we laughed for better days. 
You gave us so much light, support, laughter and dignity, my friend. May you Rest In Peace!

Josh, my friend. We haven't talked in a while, but you were always someone I could trust. Our company made us mad, frustrated, yet happy...I think that's how everyone is at Marriott!  You loved your family like something fierce and were so proud of them. I am so happy I knew you. And even though you absolutely did not want a picture in my 'hater blockers', I got you anyway...and I'll cherish it.  Til the other side kid!  

Josh's online gaming friends were devastated to hear of his passing. In the years we've gotten to know him, his fierce loyalty, pride in his kids, and love and support of his family were always evident. I will miss his friendship and humor. Not many people can make me laugh so hard I can't breathe, but he did, and often. He was the rarest and truest of friends, and he left an indelible mark on all of us.

Everquest is a funny thing. Most of us will never actually meet, but we touch each other's lives. Josh will be deeply deeply missed. I am gutted that we will never hear his voice or his laugh again. I can't think of another person who stayed in our collective minds like Josh. Even though there were times he wasn't there, he was always there. He will always be there.

My most heartfelt condolences to Josh's family. He was a gift to us all and we were blessed to know him.

One of my favorite memories was watching Josh and Jaxson talk for hours about Jaxsons made up country Bermany. Josh was so intrigued and wanted to know everything about this place. To the point of becoming a citizen of Bermany. It’s not everyday you come across someone who truly listens and cares like Josh did.

I had the privilege to work with Josh at Marriott and developed a friendship that often had me belly laughing.     Josh loved to give me a hard time.  He could come off as a real hard ass, but he was really a teddy bear underneath.    Working with Josh was a breath of fresh air.   We didn't have to dance around the topic with niceties,  we just got down to business and got the problem solved.     Pre COVID we had monthly happy hours with B, Rafa, Neil and Yvi that could go on way past happy hour, although Josh was often the first to leave to get home to his family.   My heart is broken for April and his children.   He most certainly is leaving behind a legacy at Marriott.  May his memory be a blessing.   

I have had the great pleasure and privilege of working with Josh over many years at Marriott International and without any doubt I had some of the biggest laughs with him.  Not only was he super smart and knowledgeable, he was beyond kind, helpful, supportive and always willing to lend a hand.  Above all, he was just a good guy with an incredible sense of humor. 
I will truly miss working with you Josh, our banters and jokes always made a big difference and it is obvious from all the comments here, that you have made an incredible impact on so many of your colleagues, friends and family.  Rest in peace my friend and keep looking for DW!!

My husband and I went to church with Josh and his family in Frederick, MD. We were immediately drawn to them. Their love for the Lord showed in their commitment to the church and service to God. Josh was a wonderful deacon and leader in the church and always served with a humble heart. He raised beautiful and kind children that I know he and April are so proud of. They are truly such a wonderful picture of a loving and Godly family. Josh will be missed by so many. We will always count him and his wonderful family as our friends. During our days together at Marriott Business Service, Josh was one of the most kind and knowledgeable IT guys at our center.  His patience and diligence in resolving issues did not go unnoticed.
