Gerald Douglas Strickland, age 85 passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Gerald enjoyed golfing, reading, history, and spending time with his grandkids. He is preceded in death by mother Charlcie Tilson; grandparents Jap and Beulah Strickland and brother Lyndal Joe Strickland. Gerald is survived by wife of 60 years Lynda Arp Strickland; children Karen Strickland and Lara (Elliott) Sievers; grandchildren Jeremy Strickland, Garrett Sievers, and Mason Sievers; and special friends Sam and Betty Watson, Glenda and Danny Draper and Sharon and Glen Bush. The family would like to thank UT Hospice and Nurse Carissa for the love and care they provided. The family welcomes friends for a Visitation from 1:30pm-2:30pm on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Chapel. The family will have private services at a later date.
