Condon served in the U.S. Army as track commander in Vietnam. He survived the Tet Offensive and the raining down of agent orange. Came home, married, and started a family, all while completing his Bachelor's in industrial technology from ETSU. Completed a successful career in management with TVA. He was also a talented tradesman, building his own home. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Condon was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Betty Payne. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Jackie H. Payne; son, Condon B. "Barry" Payne; daughter, Julie A. Payne (Kevin) Kelso; grandson, Shea Thomas Payne; brother, Larry D. (Sunan) Payne; sister, Janie M. (Bill) Hickey, and special uncle Doyle Human.
The Family will honor Condon with a receiving of friends at Sherwood Chapel & Memorial Gardens, 3176 Airport Highway, Alcoa, TN 37701, in The Good Shepherd Mausoleum Chapel on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers the family request that you make a donation in honor of Condon to the charity of your choice.
