March 6, 2019 at the Sunnyside Adult Foster Care in Marshall,
Michigan. He was born February 16, 1929 to Floyd and Lillian
(Patchett) Blight in Flushing, Michigan. On February 14, 1953,
he married Frances Theresa Gigowski who survives.
William was a self- employed farmer for over 58 years. He was
a member of the Marengo Township Fire Department, Albion
Elevator Company Board member also with the Farm Bureau;
he was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church and the
Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed bowling and horses, but
most of all family gatherings and Sunday evening softball
games with all the family.
William is survived by his children, Deborah (Phil) Weitzel,
Kelly Jo Blight, Arthur (LeAnne) Blight and Kenneth (Sue)
Blight; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death, along with brothers,
Warren, Maurice and George and sisters, Virginia Lewis
and Donna Hazel.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday,
March 10, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:00PM with a Rosary
at 6:00PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home,
811 Finley Drive, Albion.
Funeral Mass will be Monday, March 11 at 11:00AM with
visitation at 10:00AM at St. John Catholic Church,
1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion, Michigan 49224 with
Father Joe Gray officiating.
Burial will follow at East Eckford Cemetery.
