Wayne Deforest Adams

Wayne Deforest Adams, age 83 of Albion passed away peacefully in his home on August 29, 2020. He was born May 2, 1937 in Albion the son of Darwin and Thelma (Nicewander) Adams and they have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, William, Darwin and John Adams and sister, Jean Griffin.

Wayne attended Kellogg Community College earning his degree in Electrical Engineering and was a Master Electrician. He worked for Corning Glass for many years and then Hayes Albion until his retirement in 2002. Wayne never fully retired though; he was generous with his talents and could fix anything. He shared his time and talent with others to help them with not only electrical work, but many other things, even installing hardwood floors. He also loved flying and had his Private Pilot’s License for over 60 years.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Daniel (Zulfiya) Adams, Dennis (Michelle) Adams, daughter, Denise Burns all of TN, longtime companion, Betty Mulkey of Albion, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brother, Carl Adams and sister, Jane Hunt.

A funeral service for Wayne will be held Saturday, September 5, 2020 with visitation at 11AM until the time of service at 1PM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
