Patricia, just know that your grieving is shared by all who knew and loved Tommy. jd

Tom was such a wonderful friend.  He and Patricia were  so special to us, and the times we spent together are forever etched in our hearts. To know Tommy was to love Tommy, every big hearted detail about him was just the real deal.  His laughter, his generous nature, his special attention to his family and friends, his concern for others, and his positivity. Our lives were better because of his presence.  We will never ever forget you, dear friend, as you have a forever place in memories.  Patricia, our hearts are with you always, and though many miles now separate us, we are but a call away.  Our prayers are with you and all the family during this difficult time, but we know Tom's love will always envelope you with every sunrise and sunset he so cherished.

I felt so lucky to call Tom my friend for the years I got with him here in Mi , I've learned so much from him he was there to help me make some of the toughest decisions in my life adopting my kids and fighting cancer at advancing stage  no matter what was going on I had someone  like a Dad to get advice from , he was a great example of how you're supposed to live when you're dying and the right attitude about life it was  a blessing just like being around him I will see you again my friend  with big smile,I'm sure he is having a party upstairs and would not want us to to be sad, I will miss that man tremendously 

I first met Tom when I moved to Minnesota and began my career with NSP/Xcel Energy in 1986. He became a good friend, a great worker and a confidant. We went through some difficult times yet Tom was always willing to look on the bright side of things. I can still recall the saying he had on this office wall: It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice. Tom was the most exuberant person I have ever met. I will miss him dearly.

I first met Tom working at the Forem Cafe in downtown Minneapolis, we we're teenagers.  Years later we reaquainted while working at NSP.  A lot can be said about Tom as a very caring and thoughtful person.  Tom was one of a kind, and I was lucky to have him as a close friend.  To this day I have never met anyone like Tom.  My wife Mary and I we’re introduced to many of his friends and family to which we have many fond memories.  Knowing Patricia, his family and friends has been one of the joys of our lives. Tom was a great friend, such a positive uplifting person for so many years in my life. He was always upbeat and encouraging. Even when he wasn’t around and things were tough I would remember his encouragement to lean on. I will always cherish and reflect on the memories of our golf outings, trip to Lake Powell, car shows, forever showing me interior decorating ideas from magazines for his next condo project, his corned beef and cabbage, listening to his stories, and endlessly driving up and down the coast looking at condos. I am truly blessed and grateful for all the time we spent together. I will think about him often.

   Don met Tom quite awhile before I did.  They went (with other friends) on golfing trips mostly out West . Don enjoyed these trips and all the memories especially the stories Tom would tell. 
   Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet this funny guy until later.  Tom loved life to the fullest.  His caring,joking,laughing and wonderful sense of humor.  We loved being around him wether it be planting rose bushes in his backyard , going out to eat, or just listening to the stories. 
     We lost a great person that made the world better. Our prayers for Patricia and family.

I am writing to express my condolences to Tom's family.  He was a wonderful friend to my brother, Steve London.  We lost Steve a year ago, and sincerely hope that Steve and Tom are together again now sharing stories and laughs.  Mike,  Patricia, I hope you find peace.  Tom was a gem!

Our memories will always be our lake side visits, boat rides, eating out and games.  We are grateful to have met both of you in our neighborhood.  We'll miss Tom's kindness and positivity.  Sympathy to you and your family.

Tommy and I were great friends going on 50 years. When we first met we were both claims adjusters. Tom, with NSP and I at State Automobile and Casualty. A claim arose that I filed against NSP. Tom denied my claim. His office was across the street from mine. So instead of writing another letter I walked across the street and negotiated a settlement directly with him. That was around 1974 and from then on we became great friends. We traveled together to San Diego so many times I've lost count. Tom was my 3rd brother and I loved him. I use to talk with him once a week. I miss him 😢. The memories I have of Tom will live with me until I die. 

I only knew Tom from talking to Patricia but it is obvious that the we lost another good one.   Our prayers for Patricia and all of Tom's extended family as you grieve your loss.


When I heard of his passing it broke my heart! He & my big brother, Jim Knowlton, where very close friends for so many years & I had the pleasure of knowing & admiring him as such a great man! I wrote the date of his passing on my calendar & will remember him for as long as I’m alive. We lost another great soul with his passing, & my most sincere sympathy to wife & his family!
