Terry Lee Sweeter

Terry Lee Sweeter age 69 of Albion passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson under the loving care of his family. Terry was born in Albion on August 18, 1953 the son of NR and Gwendolyn (Sharrar) Sweeter. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Linda Underwood and his daughter recently preceded him in death on June 13th, Shanna Jean Cale.

Terry was a family man, a dedicated, loving husband, father and grandfather who always put his needs second to his family’s needs. He would often do without so that they could have the things they needed. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, walking through the woods, woodworking and grilling out. He like to watch the Lions play football, the Indy 500 races, the History Channel, John Wayne Movies, country music and going to church. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who loved him.

He leaves behind the love of his life, Mindy (Capitol) whom he married in Albion on March 17, 1979. He also leaves his children: Patrick Sweeter, Rebecca (Jordan) McKenzie, Robert Sweeter, Billy (Sarah) Sweeter, April (Raymond) Edwards, Troy Sweeter, Katie Sweeter; 19 grandchildren: Rebecca Draper, Mathon McKenzie, Areyanna Sweeter, Caisey Sweeter, Avalon Sweeter, Rageon Sweeter, Viola Sweeter, Nicolette Edwards, Raymond Edwards Jr., Dyelon Edwards, Dominique Edwards, Gloria Edwards, Willie Edwards, Leo Sweeter, Norah Sweeter, Gage Cale, Aubrey Cale, Chance Sweeter, Keigan Sweeter, sister-in-law Sherry Boyd, sister-in-law Renee (Jack) Diamond, and several nieces and nephews and his best friend that was more like a brother to him, Douglas (Spomenka) Corbett.

He is received in death by his brother-in-law James Boyd.

Terry’s family will celebrate his life on Friday, July 7, 2023 with visitation at 3PM until the time of service at 4PM at J. Kevin Tidd funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating.
