After her last trip to Paris (Feb 2014), like a teenage girl, she was so happy to meet with her preferred actor/singer that she confessed: "I did not wash my cheeks since Pierre Barouh kissed me!".

In remote places, she visited forgotten YFU volunteers in their retirement homes. She acknowledged their faithful dedication, gave good news and invented beautiful messages of gratitude from the once-young French and American, boys and girls, who benefitted from their faith in a better world. 

After such visits she was so moved that she declared: "I wish I can come back to die, here, in France". Before she could accomplish this dream, her creator offered her a last trip to Heaven and the gift of her presence to Albion community she cherished and served with great conviction.

After being (in her Paris restaurant) the friend, the sunday-nights dinners confident  of princes and real marquises, she will remain a noble symbol of French/American friendship and "joie de vivre".

PS:/ together with some Albion College alumni, we are currently dreaming of re-building an "International House" + scholarships program for Albion community kids. We might name the French Quarter: "Maison française Sue Marcos".

Sue Marcos nous a quittés le 16 juin 2015

Après son dernier voyage à Paris (Février 2014), telle une midinette, elle était si heureuse d'avoir rencontré son acteur/chanteur préféré qu'elle confessa: "Je ne me suis pas lavé les joues depuis que Pierre Barouh m'a embrassé!".

Dans des lieux improbables, elle a rendu visite, dans leur maison de retraite, à d'anciens volontaires de YFU, complètement oubliés. Elle les a gratifiés de compliments pour leur dévouement passé, partagé les bonnes nouvelles et inventé de beaux messages de remerciement de la part des garçons et filles, français et américains, qui avaient bénéficié de leur foi en un monde meilleur.

Après de telles visites, elle était si émue qu'elle déclarait: "J'espère pouvoir revenir mourir, ici, en France". Avant qu'elle ait pu accomplir ce rêve, son créateur lui a offert son dernier voyage, au Paradis. Dans le même temps, il a offert sa présence à la communauté des gens d'Albion qu'elle a chérie et servie avec une grande conviction. 

Après avoir été (dans son restaurant parisien) l'amie et la confidente des dîners du dimanche soir de princes et de vraies marquises, elle restera un noble symbole de l'amitié Franco-Américaine et de la joie de vivre.

PS:/ avec quelques anciens d'Albion College nous rêvons de reconstruire la Maison Internationale de notre jeunesse ainsi qu'un programme de bourses pour les jeunes d'Albion. Peut-être l'occasion de baptiser la partie française "La maison française Sue Marcos".

Sue has been among my very dearest friends since the day we met checking into the dorm on our first day at DePauw University in 1958.  We have stayed in contact since then no matter where in the world we lived. She was a wonderful friend. My thoughts are with her family and with Cruz and Pat.  Saunie Fabrick MacGregor

I just loved Sue.  We went to France together when we were 20 on the Queen Mary.  What a fun time.  Then we shared an apartment in Paris for 6 weeks before traveling to Grenoble, France where she met her future  husband, Jean Jacques Marcos.

I have been seeing Sue off and on for the pasts 50 years.  I will miss her grand sense of humor. She had a big role in my life.

I have a lot of good memories of Sue, back in our youth.  We had some fun times in High School.  So sorry for the loss of Sue, she was a true Albionite.  A very involved person, and she will be missed by many. .

Sue was dedicated person at every Job she had and always worked 
for her community and tried to help make things better.
