Patricia “Pat” A. Konkle, age 86 of Albion passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday June 28, 2017 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born September 8, 1930 to Raymond and Loretta (Andrews) Knodt in Albion, Michigan. On July 5, 1947, she married Henry R. “Hank” Konkle who preceded her in 2011.
Pat was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church in Albion; was on the Altar Rosary Society, helped after A.H.S. football games laundering their uniforms, helped package the baskets for Christmas gifts to those in need and most people would remember her smiling face seen at the annual St. John Catholic Church Lenten Fish Fry working as cashier. Pat enjoyed golfing, cooking, cross stick, reading, puzzles, served with her husband on numerous community events; attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and especially spending time with her husband Hank and her family.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Janine (Ken) Waito, Linda (Kevin) Markovich, Teri (fiancé Harold Face) Konkle, Sally Jackson and Nancy (Joe) Konkle-Jackson all of Albion; sons, James (Kathy) Konkle of Brighton and Steve (Sal) Konkle of Marshall; 18 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren with 2 more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Thomas W. Konkle; sister, Isabel (Glen) Orwig; brother, Raymond Kondt Jr.; son-in-law, Dennis Jackson and sister-in-law, Sheila Konkle.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:00PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224 with a Rosary recited at 6:00PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be Monday, July 3rd at 11:00AM at St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion with Father Joe Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
