Mabel Vest Otto

Marshall Nursing and Rehab in Marshall, Michigan. She was born May 13, 1930 to Roy and Minda (Owens) Chapman in Kentucky. She was married to James H. Vest who preceded her in death October 7, 1977, she then married Hermes J. Otto who also preceded her in death July 14, 2011.

Mabel retired as a baker from Albion College. She loved to bake, loved children and sewing. Mabel was a loving mother and grandmother and was also a very active and devoted member of Christ Apostolic Church where she used her many talents to bake apple pies, cinnamon rolls and sew aprons for the children.

Mabel is survived by:

Sons- Alan (Sharon) Vest, Roy (Norma) Vest, Earl (Tresia) Vest and Kenneth (Tonya) Vest

Daughters- Deborah Kay (Jack) Shepherd, Grace Conklin and Janie (Paul) McKelvey

21 Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren

Sisters- Opal Wellman and Ruth Chapman

Brothers- James (Frances) Chapman

Step-Children- Gary Otto, Steven Otto, Howard Scott Otto, Joe Otto, Ben Otto, Martin Otto, Marsha Bane,

Christine Sevener, Teresce Seume, Nancy Haas

She was preceded by her parents, both husbands, son, Henry Jerome Vest, sister, Louise Kimble; brothers: Garland, Clarence, Everett and Earl Chapman; granddaughter, Rebecca Vest and grandson, Andrew Alan Vest

Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 5–8PM at

Christ Apostolic Church, 503 N. Superior Street, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service

will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the church with Pastor David Trammell officiating. Interment will follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
