Jose M.”Joe” Benavidez, age 83 of Albion passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1927 in Brownsville, Texas to Jose and Guadalupe (Gonzalez) Benavidez. On November 25, 1956 he married Barbara DeLand who survives.
Jose was a supervisor at Harvard Industries for 43 years until he retired in 1991. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korea Conflict. Jose was a life member of the V.F.W. Post#3672 of Albion, member of the Knights of Columbus and the Albion Elk’s Lodge #1798. He enjoyed bowling, golf and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jose Jr., grandson Joseph Benavidez , step-father
Theodoro Dela Rosa and one great-grandson Jose Manuel Lopez.
Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, July 1, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 2nd at 11:00 A.M. with Chaplin Ken Ponds officiating. Burial will be at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
