Honoring Joseph Howard Caldwell II, passed away on December 23, 2020 in Battle Creek, MI. Joe was born on September 3, 1928 in Calhoun, Alabama to Joseph Howard Caldwell and Rosa Lee Hicks. He was recognized as one of the Caldwell family elders. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joan E. Reid-Caldwell, and his second wife Earline Hill-Caldwell, his brother Robert Caldwell of Flint, MI, and two daughters Rose Marie Caldwell and Patricia Ann Caldwell, and his grandson Bryce Caldwell.
Joe was the founder of Caldwell Trucking & Excavating Company in Albion, MI. He was a standing member of Lewis Chapel AME Church in Albion, and he also joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Albion. He was a longtime friend and servant to the community and will be remembered for his willingness to always help other people. Joe was a blessing, he was loved, and he will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory eight children: Glen Caldwell of Battle Creek, MI, Marsha Caldwell-Williams of Phoenix, AZ, Burles Caldwell of Las Vegas, NV, Paris Caldwell of Pensacola, FL, Herschel Caldwell of Albion, MI, Detria Caldwell-Palmer of Battle Creek, MI, Joseph Howard Caldwell III of Albion, MI, and Steven Caldwell of Albion, MI.
Also his fifteen grandchildren: Robert D. Sango, Jonathan Caldwell, Rodney Williams, Bethany Caldwell-Clarke, Ariana Caldwell-Hughes, Elizabeth Caldwell-Alexander, Jason Caldwell, Jeremy Caldwell, Crystia Caldwell, Burles Caldwell Jr., Stacey Caldwell, Jasmine Caldwell, Brianna Blake, Darius Caldwell, Reese Caldwell, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
With respect for the health and well-being of everyone; due to the Pandemic, a Private Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2020 at Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Steve Williams of Grace Temple Church will be officiating.
