

James Dausten England, born on July 30, 1936, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away September 8, 2024 peacefully in his home surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and love.The son of Lora ( Risner) and Ireland England,he grew up in a bustling household as one of 12 siblings. From a young age, James took the responsibility of providing for his mother and siblings, honing his skills in hunting, trapping, and fishing.
As a teenager, he moved to Albion, Michigan to live with his maternal grandparents, where he worked in a factory. Later while working in the onion fields he met and fell in love with Loretta Wireman, whom he married on October 20, 1956. Together, over 62 years of marriage they built a loving family with four children, 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. He was lovingly referred to as "Pop-Pop".
In his 30s, James gave his heart to the Lord and served as a deacon at Faith Assembly of God Church for many years, embodying his deep commitment to faith and community. His passion in life was buying land, building houses, property management, and general wheeling-and-dealing. He built an empire that touched and supported the lives of many, and his unmatched work ethic inspired all who know him. An avid hunter, he was renowned for his exceptional abilities in fox and coon hunting. His dedication to both his family and his pursuits will be remembered fondly by all.
He is survived by his children: Valerie (Randy) England-Burt, Rick (Sharry) England, Tami (David) Briskie; grandchildren: Jason(Brandi) Randall, Todd (Tracy) Randall, Tiffany (Kevin) Frost, Pepper (Travis) Fredenburg, Jeremiah England, Jessica England, Jade England, Nick England, Ryan (Kate) England and Cody Briskie; siblings: Daisy Redfield, Joyce Kemp, Gordon England, Calbert England and Calvin England.
He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta England; his son Neil England; grandson Tyler Briskie;siblings Robie England,Barbara England, Donuel England, Arlo England, Darlene Kitley and Larry Kendall.
A graveside service for James will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Rice Creek Cemetery, Marshall, Michigan. Following the graveside service will be a luncheon and celebration of life at 12:00 PM at Faith Assembly of God, 9800 S. Cochran Ave., Olivet, Michigan.
